BRYANT — June McDonald, 78, of Bryant, died Wednesday September 9, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Visitation will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. until the service hour at the Pape Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will take place following the funeral service and burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bryant, Sunday at 3:00 p.m.June was born on June 16, 1931, in Clinton, the daughter of Lyal and Leota (Petersen) Struve. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1949. June married Charles "Mac" McDonald on September 6, 1952, in Clinton; he died in 1988. She worked as a secretary for Naeve Hybrid Corn Company for many years, where she retired. June enjoyed quilting, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and many friends. June is survived by her five children, Gary McDonald of Tahoe City, CA, Julie (Dan) Manikowski of Washington, IL, Diane (Dennis) Grantz of Goose Lake, Lana (Dave) Benz of Marshalltown, IA, and Terri (Alan) McDonald-Peters of Bryant; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rhea Aiton of Lakeland, FL, and Jeanne Johnson of Andover; and a brother, John "Jack" Struve of Clinton.
