DEWITT — James E. Judge, age 69 of DeWitt, died Thursday Aug. 20, 2009, at Mercy North Medical Center in Clinton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Camanche. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Camanche. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be at Villanova Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Michael Shannon, Jack Kuehl, Randy Seeser, Russell Petersen, Bob Judge, Bill Allen, Hugh McAleer and Stan VonThun. Memorials may be given to the RSVP, American Cancer Society or Church of the Visitation. Jim was born on Dec. 9, 1939 in Clinton, the son of Ambrose and Elsie (Mohr) Judge. He graduated from Elvira High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Patricia Shannon on Aug. 5, 1967, in Clinton. Jim was a farmer on the family farm until 1992, whereafter he worked for W.W. Trucking and Eastern Iowa Trucking Company. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation, Clinton County Democrats, Low Moor Lions Club, Clinton AMVETS, Knights of Columbus and served as past president of Northeast Community School Board. Jim was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan. Jim is survived by his wife, Pat of DeWitt; daughter, Mary Anne (Joe) Fratianni of West Des Moines; son, Michael Judge of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Salvatore, Giuseppe, Lily, Gavin and Aidan; three sisters, Sr. Theresa Judge of Clinton, Catherine Judge of San Juan, Texas, and Rose Judge of Iowa City; and a brother, John Judge of Clinton.
