The Clinton Herald Wednesday January 5, 1944 p. 10 Mrs. Caroline Schrum, RFD 2 Clinton, died at 1 o'clock this morning in her rural home. She was 83 years of age. The body reposes in the Pape funeral home where services are bing planned for Saturday.afternoon. Caroline Hohne was born Feb. 12, 1860, in Germany, the daughter of Adolph and Anna Hohne. She was a baptized and confirmed member of the Lutheran church and had resided in this community since her marriage in 1880 to Claus Schrum who preceded her in death. Mrs. Schrum is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nick Mason, Mrs. Elma Hermann, and Mrs. Homer Cleveland, Clinton; Mrs. Ed Henningsen, Estherville; two sons, John and Henry, Clinton and a sister, Mrs. Louis Schmidt, Clinton. Other survivors are 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were two daughters, one son, a sister and two brothers.
