BETTENDORF — Jean Ellen Rittmer, 45, Bettendorf, died on July 27, 2009, at her home. She was born October 25, 1963, in DeWitt, the daughter of Orville Rittmer and June (Plambeck) Rittmer. She had taught and tutored in and around the Quad-City area, currently teaching in the Logan and Washington Schools in Moline, Illinois. Jean was an active member in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. She was a well-known volunteer. Jean loved her nieces, nephews, cats and needlework. Survivors include her mother, June Rittmer, Grand Mound; her father, Orville Rittmer, DeWitt; brother, Douglas Rittmer, Grand Mound; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Barb and Mark Henningsen, Grand Mound, and Carol and Steven McDonnell, DeWitt; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Pallbearers will be Mark Henningsen, Steven McDonnell, Thomas McDonnell, Adam Henningsen, Michael Petersen and David Petersen.
