MORRISON, Ill. — Effie Klimstra, 101, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at the nursing home.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL, with the Rev. George McIlrath officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the service time Saturday at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorials may be made to Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL. She was born December 7, 1907, in Whiteside County, IL, to George K. and Anna (Buikema) Ottens. Effie was educated in Fulton Grade Schools. She married Paul Klimstra on May 27, 1926, in Fulton, IL; he died March 9, 1998. Effie was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL, and served as organist for 50 years while a member of Ebenezer and Emmanuel Reformed churches in Morrison until her retirement. She organized a church orchestra at Ebenezer Reformed Church and gave piano lessons at her home. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Paul, and the winters they spent in Florida. Her life was filled with service to her family and church. She greatly enjoyed summer family reunions and visits to her children. Her sewing and handwork projects were well known to her family. Her life was centered on her family, friends, church and music. Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Bill) Dearinger of Wayland, MI, and Mary (Ron) Maner of Kingsport, TN; one son, Gene (Carol) Klimstra of Fulton, IL; seven grandchildren, Randy (Vicki) Klimstra, Robin Kelley, Todd (Diane) Rempe, Anne (James) Thiros, Bryon (Kelly) Maner, Brent Maner and Cathy (David) Yaggy; and ten great-grandchildren.
