CLINTON — Carl R. Fanger age 71 of Clinton, died Monday July 20, 2009 at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, July 24th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Miles City Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dwaine Johnson, Ray Stuedemann, David and Matt Rose, Jon Thoms, Greg Dennis, S. McDonald, and Robert Unruh. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Clausen, Ralph Barlow, and Arlo Back. Carl was born on Dec. 23, 1937 in Clinton, IA, the son of Harry and Anna (Henricksen) Fanger. He graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1955. Carl married Nola Jepsen on May 11, 1963 in Miles, IA. Carl worked as a semi-truck driver for many years, more recently with Dwaine Johnson Trucking. He was a member of the Clinton Moose Home and enjoyed attending baseball games and helping with the 4-H Club. Carl is survived by his wife, Nola Fanger of Clinton; two daughters, MeMe (Jon) Ternus of Leawood, KS and Melissa (David) Baum of Vail, CO; four grandchildren, Gretchen, Madeline, Owen, and Lily; his mother, Anna Fanger of Clinton; and two sisters, Marjorie (Gary) Rathman of Calamus, IA and Marilyn (Scott) Spangler of Franklin Grove, IL. He was preceded in death by his father.Death date: July 20, 2009
