DEWITT — Lorraine J. Moldenshardt, 82, DeWitt, Iowa died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at her son's home in LeClaire. Services will be Monday, June 29, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt, Iowa with Reverend Timothy Carr officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, DeWitt, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 4 until 7:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa. Memorials may go to Genesis Hospice. Lorraine was born in East Moline, IL, on February 17, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Kaseberg) Schuette. She was baptized at the Albany Methodist Church and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1944. Lorraine married Robert R. Moldenshardt on May 31, 1958 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Long Grove, Iowa. He died on July 9, 2001. Lorraine was employed at International Harvester, East Moline, Ill. for 38 years in many office clerical positions.Memberships included; Old Sleepy Eye Collectors Club, Red Wing Collectors Society, Plus 60 Antique Auto Club, National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.After retirement in 1982, and for the next 15 years, she and her husband were venders at the Farmers Market in Davenport and Clinton. They enjoyed dancing at the coliseum and Fairyland Ballroom, going to estate sales, antique shows, conventions, traveling, gardening and playing cards; Lorraine continuing to garden and play cards after her husband's death.Those left to celebrate her life is a daughter, Ruth Rose, Verona, Mississippi; a son, Paul Moldenshardt and his wife, Diana, LeClaire, Iowa; a sister, Joan (Kenneth) Suess, Santee, California; a grandson, Adny Rose, Clinton, Iowa, a granddaughter, Angela Rose, Tupelo, Mississippi; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a brother, Glenn Schuette and her special father, "Pop."
