CLINTON — Valeria B. Meyermann, age 91, of Clinton, died Saturday June 20, 2009, at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24th, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Brian and Paul Heath, David Holcomb, Kurt Reineck, and honorary pallbearers, Frances Gillam and Sarah Reineck. Valeria was born on March 12, 1918, in Brandon, IA, the daughter of Clayton and Macye (Underwood) Gillam. She married Alfred Funnell in 1943 in Clinton; he died in 1975. She later married Benjamin Meyermann on April 29, 1978, in Clinton; he died in 2001. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was involved with Ladies Aid, Bible study and the Over 50 Club. Valeria is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Ed) Hugunin of Fulton, IL, and Sally (Dr. Ronald) Hill of Princeton, IA; a son, Robert (Libby) Funnell of Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Liles of Chicago, IL.
