Thomas Ashton 04/17/2000 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Thomas E. Ashton, formerly of 853 14th St. N.W., will be noon Tuesday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Ashton died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Eagle Point Nursing Home. He was an inspector for E.I. DuPont Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1979. He was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Clinton. He married Geraldine Christofferson in 1942 in Clinton. During World War II, he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to the Amvets Club, Salvation Army or Clinton High School athletic department. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Michelle Spooner, Clinton, and Dana Patterson, Freeport, Ill.; sons, Michael, Melcher, Daniel, Jackson, Tenn., and Patrick, Osceola, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
