Doris Burlingame 02/16/2002 CLINTON, Iowa -- Private services for Doris J. Burlingame, of 1339 9th St. N.W., will be Monday in Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes & Crematory, Clinton. Mrs. Burlingame died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Hospice Cavanaugh House, Des Moines. She was employed 24 years as a teacher in Clinton schools. She retired in 1985. She had taught at Jefferson Grade School and Horace Mann Grade School for eight years and then at Elijah Buell Grade School for 16 years. Doris Gill was born in Sept. 29, 1920, in Boone. She married Richard "Dick" Burlingame in 1942 in Clinton. He died in 1996 in Clinton. Memorials may be made to Clinton Public Library Children's Department. Survivors include sons, Tom E., West Des Moines, and Richard G. "Rich" Jr., Clinton; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and sister, Betty Kramer, Fort Myers, Fla.
