Alice Caven 02/12/2002 CLINTON, Iowa -- Alice I. Caven, Clinton, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-Clinton, North Campus. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory. Mrs. Caven had taught in rural schools in Jackson County. Alice Marvin was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Preston. She married Leonard Caven in 1933 in Freeport, Ill. They had farmed. He died in 1970. Survivors include daughters, Iona Brewer, Betty Sear, Carol Neymeyer, Patricia Bahnsen, Nancy Meyer and Mary Clary, all of Clinton, and Linda Dawson, Iowa City; sons, Garold and Robert, both of Clinton; 26 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister, Ruth Weasmer, Laughlin, Nev.; and brother, George Marvin, Maquoketa.
