Mata Stamp 10/04/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Mata K. Stamp, of Clinton, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1999, at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. She was a homemaker and during the 1920s,she taught school in rural Clinton County. Mata May was born on March 16, l902, in Clinton. She married Chris Stamp in 1922 in Rock Island. He died in 1991. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association or St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Kraciun of Camanche; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Marshall, Clinton.
