Mary Thayer 08/07/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Mary P. Thayer, of 1727 Roosevelt St., will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Schmitz Funeral Home, Clinton, with a Scripture service at 5 p.m. Mrs. Thayer died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, on the way to her daughter's home. She was employed as a teacher for 29 years with Clinton schools. She retired in 1997 from Longfellow Grade School. She also taught in Milwaukee and Davenport and was employed since 1979 a certified nurse's aide at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Mary House was born April 11, 1932, in Winter, Wis. She married Richard Thayer in 1966 in Clinton. He preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Jeanne Nitz, Erie, Ill., and Joanne Kilburg, Clinton; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest House, Hayward, Wis.
