CLINTON — Ray F. Morgan Sr., 90, of Clinton, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, IA.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Brinkman, senior pastor, and the Rev. Dan Pool, associate pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clinton, IA, will be officiating.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson, IL. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Preschool, Clinton, IA, and Mercy Hospice, Clinton, IA. He was born December 15, 1918, in Thomson, IL, to Lee and Elizabeth (Miller) Morgan. He was educated in the Thomson and Fulton, IL, schools. He married Janet Kenyon on March 29, 1941, in Clinton, IA. She died June 14, 1975. He then married Dolores Schroeder on February 24, 1978, in Clinton, IA. She survives.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Aviation Metalsmith Third Class, AMC. He was stationed in the Allusion Islands.Ray was first employed at the milk factory in Argo Fay, IL. He then was engaged in farming in the Thomson area. He next worked as a milk hauler for Sanitary Dairy, Clinton, IA, and later as an over the road truck driver. He also worked as a custodian for the Clinton School System. Most recently he was employed by the former Jane Lamb Hospital in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clinton, IA; member of Clinton AMVETS Post 28 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 363, Clinton, IA.Survivors include his wife, Dolores; two daughters, Sandra Wiersema, Fulton, IL, Marianne (Robert) Gooding, Lincoln Park, MI; two sons, Ray (Tessa) Morgan Jr., Tucson, AZ, Lynn (Elaine) Morgan, Long Beach, MS; three stepdaughters, Carolyn (Gerald) Kramer, Clinton, IA, Janice (James) Eggers, Clinton, IA, Barbara Mahmens, Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren; eighteen great- grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
