FULTON, Ill. — Barbara J. Faulkner, 60, 613 Second Ave., Fulton, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2008, at the Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton. The Rev. Dr. Stanley Bomgarden, pastor of Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton, will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2008, at the Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton. The Fulton Chapel — Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton. Memorials can be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton.She was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Chicago, to Edward C. and Martha L. (Swanson) Guth. She was a graduate of Bogan High School, Chicago. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill., and completed graduate work at Western Illinois University. She married Craig R. Faulkner, December 26, 1970, in Fulton. He survives.She was employed by CBS Television as executive secretary for Sales and Advertising. She was employed by the River Bend School System as an art teacher for the Fulton Middle and High School and then worked for Gateway Travel, Clinton, IA, and Compliment Conversion Vans, Camanche, IA. She also was a Sales Associate for LCM Conversion Vans, Elkhart, Ind., and McEleney Motors, Clinton, IA. She most recently was employed as Director of Sales and Marketing for three different Best Western properties including the Frontier Inn, Clinton, IA. She was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton, and served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member and officer in the North Scott and Clinton Rotary Clubs and a volunteer and board member of the Red Cross, Clinton, IA, chapter. She was a member of the board of directors of the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, Clinton, IA, and served on the board for the Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau. Survivors include her husband; parents, Ed and Martha Guth, Fulton; two sons, Mark (Meghan) Faulkner, Lake Jackson, Texas, and Brian (Jasmine) Faulkner, Fort Collins, Colo.; two grandchildren, Brady Faulkner and Wade Faulkner, three sisters, Beverly (Tihomir) Mijatovich, Glencoe, Ill., Linda (Jerry) Bish, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Carolyn (John) Brzezinski, Evanston, Ill. Death date: Dec. 16, 2008
