The Clinton Herald Monday October 27, 1975 p. 12 George W. Wood, 65, died Monday morning at DeWitt Community Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hanrahan Funeral Home where visitation will begin Tuesday at 2 p.m. He was born Oct. 4, 1910, at Ward, Iowa, to William and Lena Kent Wood. He married Agnes Soderstrom Nov. 26, 1932 in Minno, Mo. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the V.F.W. He was employed for many years by the John Deere Co., Waterloo, and moved to DeWitt a year ago after retiring. Survivors include his widow, two sons, William and Robert, DeWitt; four brothers, John, Bettendorf, Charles, Canada, Earl, Omaha, Neb., and Vernon of DeWitt; and five grandchildren.
