DEWITT — Donna J. (Mrs. Bill) Bertram, 70, DeWitt, died Tuesday morning, November 25, 2008, at Westwing Place, DeWitt. She was born Donna J. Schurr in Davenport, Iowa, on December 20, 1937, to Ernest and Ethel Schurr. Donna graduated from Davenport Central in 1956 and A.I.C. Business School. She then worked in the billing department for Oscar Mayer in Davenport. On September 2, 1961, she married H.E. “Bill” Bertram in Bettendorf Presbyterian Church. Donna is a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Bettendorf. She also chaired the Lions Club dinners at Hamilton Lodge in Bettendorf. After moving to DeWitt, she was an active volunteer at Westwing Place, helping with activities there with a ready smile and her loving personality. Donna loved knitting, puzzles, sports, NASCAR, BINGO and riverboat gambling. Donna will be greatly missed by her husband; children, Connie (Jeff) Rohde, Clinton, Will, DeWitt, and Robert (Brenda) Clinton; grandchildren, Ben and Brandon Rohde, Nick and Kristen Bertram and Kimberly and Derrick Bertram; a brother, Dean Schurr, California; nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008, in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Kelsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.
