Mrs. Anna Schwenker

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Schwenker, of Clinton and formerly of Maquoketa, will be today, Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Haylock-O’Hara Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with the Reverend Lawrence Beals of the Maquoketa United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Lost Nation Cemetery.

Mrs. Schwenker died Sunday morning, Feb. 23 at Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton.

She was born Oct. 13, 1892 in Clinton County to Carl and Doris Berner Durkop. On November 2, 1912 she married Henry Schwenker at Maquoketa, who preceded her in death in 1962.

Her survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mabel English, Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Sam (Minnie) Falley, Topeka, Kans., and Mrs. Martha Nienkirk, Maquoketa; four brothers, Henry, Edward and William Durkop, all of Maquoketa, and Otto of Andrew; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, two sisters, and one brother.
