CLINTON — Jeanne Nissen, 88, of Clinton, died, Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Alverno Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Springdale Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy Jeanne Carson was born on January 1, 1920, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Miller) Carson. She married Charles H. Nissen on May 2, 1942, in Clinton; he later died on May 29, 2002. Jeanne was a 1938 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, and also attended the Scovil Business School. During her career she was a secretary for Mutual of New York in Denver, Colorado, Christian Brothers Winery in San Francisco, California, and also McKeon Construction. Jeanne was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish. Jeanne is survived by one niece, Barbara Kornada of Middleburg, Florida. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and husband.Death date: Sept. 13, 2008
