GOOSE LAKE — Robert H. Lamp, 86, Goose Lake, Iowa, died peacefully Saturday morning, September 13, 2008, in his home. He was born April 22, 1922, at home on the family farm to Peter and Amelia (Christiansen) Lamp. Robert was a 1940 graduate of Charlotte High School. On November 9, 1952, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Hingst at New London United Methodist Church. Robert was a lifelong hog and cattle farmer and took great pride in his Century Farm. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte. In his earlier years he shared ownership in a small aircraft and was an avid aviation and Ford tractor enthusiast. Robert enjoyed The Bible as well as world and political events. Some of his favorite activities were spending time with his family, his grandkids, great-grandkids and his dog, Peaches. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Bonnie; children, Crystal (Emmett) Machande, Sabula, Iowa; Robin (T.J. McTier) Marlowe, Low Moor, Iowa, April (Greg) Hedrick, DeWitt, Iowa, and Wade (Windy) Lamp, Clinton, Iowa; grandchildren, Josh (Jenna) Machande, Michelle (Chad) Tobey, Amanda (Cory) Hoepner, Michael Hedrick, Zachary Lamp, Sarah Hedrick, Tyler Lamp, Teri and Tiffany Lutton; great-grandchildren, Thomas Machande, Cole Tobey, Carleigh Tobey and Kelvin Machande and one due September 25th ; a sister, Leola (Eugene) Schmidt, Lost Nation, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Lois Lamp, Charlotte, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Robert in death were his parents; a grandson, Daniel Hedrick; a brother, Henry Lamp; and a niece, Marilyn Schmidt. Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte. The Rev. Terry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery, rural Bryant, Iowa. Memorials may be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Genesis Hospice of Clinton in Robert’s name. Pallbearers will be Joshua Machande, Chad Tobey, Cory Hoepner, Michael Hedrick, Zachary Lamp and Tyler Lamp. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Schmidt, Ernest Williams, Tom Messer, Wayne Williams, Norbert Krogman and David Grantz.
