CLINTON — Floyd T. “Skip” Neubauer, 63, of Clinton, lost his battle with a brain tumor on Friday, September 12, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Fred Schauer officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post 28. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jack Ytzen, Bob Jones, Bill Basil, Jon “Micah” Pickering, Wayne Hill, Steve Taplin, Chris Eyer, Jacob Tenbower, Seamus Wilkerson, Steve Wilkerson, Derrek Goldensoph and Darren Goldensoph. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the services the body will be cremated. Floyd Theodore Neubauer Jr., was born on February 14, 1945, in Saranac Lake, New York, the son of Floyd T. and Elizabeth Wilson (Henkel) Neubauer Sr. He later moved to Clinton to be raised by his grandparents, Fred and Genevieve Neubauer. Floyd graduated from Clinton High School in 1963. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison before being drafted by the United States Marines. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Marines for 12 years. Floyd married Joyce Gilbert on January 24, 1970, and later divorced. He then married Dawn Goldensoph on March 10, 1986. Floyd was an electrician at ALCOA for 25 years before retiring in 2004. Floyd was a member of the Clinton AMVETS Post 28, life member of the National Harley Owners Group, the Mayor’s Informal Advisory Committee and a member of the Clinton Citizen’s Action Congress. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, golf, Harley Davidson motorcycles and writing numerous “letters to the editor” just to see who he could irritate. Floyd is survived by his wife, Dawn, of Clinton; one daughter, Megan (Chris) Gray of Aurora, Colorado; and grandson, Colton Gray; two stepsons, Axel (Jessi) Seikola III of Grand Mound, Iowa, and Jason Petersen of Clinton; three stepgrandchildren, Elora Seikola, Ayden Seikola and Alexandria Petersen; and his half sister, Kathy Hopkins of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, a half brother and his grandparents who raised him. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
