CLINTON — Madeline M. Trine, 91, of Clinton passed away at Mercy Medical Center - North Campus Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008, with a Vigil at 7:00 pm at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel, 2610 Manufactu-ring Drive. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Anthony Herold officiating. The six pallbearers are the oldest grandchildren from each family. The other 14 grandchildren will offer the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Madeline Margaret Evans was born May 16, 1917, in Quincy, IL, to Brian and Alvera (Montague) Evans. She married Norbert Trine on August 3, 1936, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Quincy, IL. Madeline was a homemaker and was a PTA member, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader, a member of Daughter’s of Isabella, Prince of Peace Parish, the Prince of Peace Ladies Auxiliary, served on the parish council, was a Pink Lady volunteer at Mercy Hospital and was one of the first members of Valley Oaks Golf Club. Madeline is survived by her husband, Norbert of Clinton; daughters Donna Herkelman of Clinton, Sharon (Carl) Alm of Clinton; Janet (Paul) Olson of Portland, Oregon; Linda (Robert) Rasmussen of Glendale, Arizona; sons Rick (Ann) Trine of State Center, Iowa; Randy (Patty) Trine of Burlington, Iowa, and Mark Trine of Woodward, Iowa. There are 20 grand- children, 27 great-grand- children, 7 step great grand children, 1 great-great grandchild and 6 step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials can be made to Prince of Peace building fund or Multiple Sclerosis.#Death date: September 2, 2008
