FULTON, Ill. — Devon M. Bateman, age 20 of Fulton IL, died Friday August 15, 2008, in Fulton, due to injuries suffered in an car accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be held Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home. Following the funeral service cremation rites will take place. Devon was born on June 29, 1988, in Simi Valley, CA, the son of Ralph and Laura (Bateman) Anthony. From the time Devon was two he was raised by Charles Achilles. Devon graduated from Fulton High School in 2007. He worked at ADM, Clinton, in the safety training department this summer. He is a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and the Fulton Country Club. He was an avid bowler and was an umpire for the Fulton Park Leagues. Devon is survived by his step-parents, Charles and Janice Achilles of Morrison, IL; a sister, Jordan Achilles of Morrison, IL; his grandparents, Frank and Fran Cornwell of Fulton, IL and Mildred Achilles of Ithaca, NY; and his aunts and uncles, Bryan and Erika Bateman of Nixa, MO, Paul and Rose Daniels of Camanche and Jerry and Lori Achilles of Ithaca, NY.
