CLINTON — Robert H. Ehredt, 77, of Clinton, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at his home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Prince of Peace, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by Clinton AMVETS Post 28. Serving as pallbearers will be Marc Ehredt, Adam Ehredt, Robert Ehredt II, Joshua Bolton, Ryan Bolton, Delmar Bolton and Tyler Ehredt. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Robert Howard Ehredt was born on August 24, 1930, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Howard and Loretta (Eberhart) Ehredt. He married Patricia “Paly” Logue on February 9, 1957, in Clinton; she later died on October 20, 2001. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marines Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was also a Golden Gloves Boxer while in the Marine Corps. Bob was a conductor for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1991. After his retirement he was a greens keeper at the Valley Oaks Golf Club. Bob was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, the Eagles Club, was an avid fisherman, golfer and Chicago Bears fan. Bob is survived by three sons, Thomas (Mary Hopkins) Ehredt, Michael Ehredt, Kevin (Debbie) Ehredt, and one daughter Suzanne (Delmar) Bolton all of Clinton; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas (Thelma) Ehredt of Bettendorf, Iowa, Richard (Dottie) Ehredt of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and James Ehredt of Clinton, Iowa; one sister, Emily Delanney of DeWitt, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Mark, and two sisters Alice and Jean. Memorials can be made to the family.
