CLINTON — Joseph D. Walters, 77, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center - South Campus. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Dr. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Cremation Rites have been accorded.Joseph was born in Clinton on April 18, 1931, to Ernest and Evelyn (McClain) Walters. He married Susan Thielen January 2, 1951, in Morrison, IL. Joseph worked at Clinton Corn Processing Starch Plant, later working in the lab and worked at Siemens as the Head of Maintenance in Atlanta, GA, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the AMVETS, VFW and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Joseph is survived by his daughters, Marcia (George) Rhoades of Milan, IL, and Angela Walters of Clinton; one son, Mark (Liz) Walters of Clinton; two grandchildren, Heather (Jay) Wainwright and Jacob Walters, both of Clinton; and one great-grandson, Bryce Wainwright.Preceding him death were his parents, his wife in 2003, one sister and one brother.Memorials are being established.Death date: July 9, 2008
