ROSENBERG, Texas — Jon David Hill, formerly of Clinton, age 66, died June 16, 2008, at Houston Memorial Hospital, Texas.He was born in Davenport to Ellsworth and Lucille Dewey Hill on Oct. 18, 1941. He attended schools in Clinton and Bellevue.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. He was a Ham radio operator in the service and civilian life. He married Gay Solomon in 1962. They had five children. They later divorced. He then married Bette Vanderhoff May 10, 1984.During his childhood, his parents had a horse riding academy. They also enjoyed family picnics and swimming. Later in life, he was involved with the Hill family tree. He also enjoyed working on his computer. Survivors include his wife, Bette, of 24 years; one son, Jon Jr.; four daughters, Tammy, Carol Joyce, Theresa and Juanita; two sisters, Joyce (Don) Feller of Clinton, Carol (Martin) Tullio of Enumclaw, Wash.; one brother, Richard (Patty) Hill of Atlanta, Ga.; one aunt, Hazel Martzahn of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Death date: June 16, 2008
