CLINTON — Irma L. Andersen, age 84, of Clinton, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Harmony House in Clinton. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church, 401 N. 4th St. in Clinton. Visitation will be held Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Larry Knudsen, Dick Wandler, Jack Koop, Tom Mulholland, Bill Flikkema and Craig Hattleberg. Memorials may be given to ARCH Inc. of Clinton. Irma was born on Dec. 3, 1923, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Eden and Nettie (Bruhn) Johansen. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1941. She married Eugene Andersen on May 23, 1948, in Clinton. Irma worked as a switchboard operator for Northwestern Bell and was a homemaker. She was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. Irma is survived by her husband, Eugene Andersen, of Clinton; three sons, Edward (Jan) Andersen of Sterling, IL, Dennis (Judy) Andersen of Clinton and James (Cathy) Andersen of Wausau, WI; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman (Fran) Johansen of Mesa, AZ.
