CLINTON — Alfred V. O’Shogay Jr., 57, of Clinton, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Villa Nova Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe McDonnell Jr., Charlie O’Shogay, David O’Shogay, Jr., Daniel Dwire Jr., Gary Tainter Jr., and Jason Everson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bob Jones and Bob Bailey. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.Alfred Vincent O’Shogay Jr. was born on January 24, 1951, in Hayward, Wisconsin, the son of Alvred C. and Beatrice V. (DeMarr) O’Shogay. He was raised in rural DeWitt and attended a rural country school. He later moved to the Children’s Hospital in Iowa City and graduated from West High School. He graduated from Kirkwood College in 1972. He was an avid fisherman and pool player. He was also a lifetime member of the Objibway Tribe of the Lac Courte Indian Tribe in Hayward, Wisconsin. Al is survived by his siblings, David C. O’Shogay Sr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Janice (Gary) Tainter of New Post, Wisconsin, Faith (Joseph) McDonnell of Camanche, Iowa, Everett (Brenda) O’Shogay of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gerald (Karen) O’Shogay of Spokane, Washington, Darrell O’Shogay of New Post, Wisconsin, and Corrine Dwire of Clinton, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts; and special friends: Ericka and Tonia. Al was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister, Cynthia; one brother, Alonzo; a niece, and two grandnephews. Memorials can be made to the family.
