Clella Eden 12/29/1998 DeWITT, Iowa -- Clella Eden, of DeWitt, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Samaritan Hospital North, Clinton. The body will be cremated. No memorial service will be held. Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Clella Eden was born on a farm north of Calamus on Jan. 14, 1907, to Edward and Ida (Liebler) Eden. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She later received a master's degree in education from the state university with special emphasis on reading problems in the junior high school. Miss Eden taught 43 years in junior high schools in Iowa. She retired in 1971. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma educational fraternity and the Methodist Church in Calamus. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Survivors include a sister, Louis Gardner, DeWitt; and three nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and three brothers.
