KURTZ, Russell W.
Russell W. KURTZ, 54, of DeWitt, died Sunday at DeWitt Community Hospital,
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with graveside rites accorded by the DeWitt American Legion.
Pallbearers will be James, Richard, and William KURTZ, Robert SCHUESTER and Leo and Ray GARRITY.
He was born Oct 12, 1943, in Welton, to Leo and Virginia FREY KURTZ. He married Peggy A. STEINES, Nov 13, 1992, in Maquoketa.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marines.
He had been employed with Caterpiller for 20 years, and since 1992 was employed as a mechanic at Oldsen Repair in DeWitt.
He was a member of the DeWitt American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Christine (Pat) HICKEY of Springdale, Pa., Mrs. Sue (Matt) BURKE of DeWitt, Mrs. Jennifer (Doug) STOLTENBERG of Long Grove, and Mrs. Jessica (Ron) HAGEN of Valpraiso, Ind.; two stepsons, Timothy and Matthew STRUVE, both at home; six grandchildren, and three brothers, James KURTZOD Clinton, and Richard and William KURTZ, both of DeWitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
