CLINTON — Francis W. Dunlavy, age 91, of Clinton, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish-St. Mary’s Church. Visitation will be held Friday 3 to 7 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home, where a 3:00 p.m. vigil service will be recited. Burial will be at St. Mary‚s Cemetery, where the Clinton AMVETS will conduct military honors. Casket bearers will be Richard Rojas, Joe and Lucas Powelka, Phil Carden, Kelly Chandler, Mark Rittenhouse, Jason Manley, and Robert Carpenter. Francis was born on Jan. 18, 1917 in Petersville, IA, the son of Henry and Mary (Lohrey) Dunlavy. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Dewitt. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Mary Corkill on July 14, 1943 in Clinton. He worked as a boiler operator at Clinton Corn Processing for many years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Knights of Columbus, and Clinton Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and photography. Francis is survived by his wife, Mary Dunlavy of Clinton; a son, Donald (Debra) Dunlavy of Clinton; three daughters, Diane (Joseph) Powelka of Sun Prairie, WI, Mary (Jerry) Maniccia of Milan, IL, and Maureen Rojas of Clinton; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Callens of Boulder City, NV and Ruth (Jack) Hlubek of DeWitt; and a brother, Joseph (Jane) Dunlavy of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son in infancy, William, a grandson, Alberto, two brothers, and two sisters.Death date: June 4, 2008
