SAVANNA, Ill. — Jeanice Diane (Radke) Brown, age 72, of Savanna, Illinois, died Monday, May 12, 2008, in an auto accident near Fulton, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at the Savanna Bible Church, Savanna. The Reverend Michael Meyer will officiate. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Law-Jones Funeral Home Savanna. Interment will be in Savanna Township Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Savanna Bible Church. Jeanice was known by all, as a strong personable, friendly, giving individual who was dedicated to her family, her profession and her church. She was born on April 20, 1936, the daughter of Harry Arthur and Mina Dorothea (Bahnsen) Radke in Clinton, Iowa. Jeanice graduated from Savanna High School, class of 1954. She went on to graduate from the Minneapolis Medical Institute. In 1954, she married Vernon Brown. He passed away on May 26, 1961. During her medical career, Jeanice worked as a lab technician for Doctor Stewart, the Bluff Medical Clinic and Medical Associates, all of Clinton. She retired in 2001. Jeanice belonged to the Savanna Bible Church. She was an avid sports fan, especially a NASCAR fan. Her favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, the Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Bears. Jeanice loved every moment she spent with her kids and grandkids. Jeanice will be dearly missed by her son, Dale (Jean) Brown of Savanna; her daughter, Diane Brown of Sierra Vista, Arizona; two grandchildren, Frank (Lauree) Brown and Mandy (Jeremy) Castro, all of Savanna; two sisters, Lorraine and Marilyn Radke, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sisters in-law, Barbara Cottrall of Savanna and Betty (Vic) Tracey of Geneseo, Illinois; one brother in-law, George Brown of Savanna; and a special Aunt, Charlotte Brown of Savanna. Jeanice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; and an infant son, Donald Arthur Brown, in 1956. Death date: May 12, 2008
