CLINTON — Grace L. Bailey, 93, of Clinton, IA, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ed, Richard and Mike Broderick, Doug Walwer and Tom Craig Sr. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Grace was born on Thursday, March 25, 1915, in New Hampton, IA, the daughter of Charles and Lela Baugh Knapp. She married William Bailey on August 12, 1930, in Waukon, Iowa; he died April 16, 1978. Grace was employed as a kitchen helper at the Country Kitchen and had been employed at the Rich Toy Factory. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary Maquoketa and was the former president of the Clinton V.F.W. Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Tom) Craig Jr. of Clinton, IA, and Mary Schoenfeld of Rock Island, IL; son, James Bailey of Rock Island, IL; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, two sons, four grandsons, two sisters and three brothers. Online condolences may be left by visiting www.snellzornig.com.
