FULTON, Ill. — Allen R. Holesinger, 77, of 716 7th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Stephan, pastor of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. Memorials may be made to Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, and Mercy Homecare and Mercy Hospice, Clinton, IA. He was born February 10, 1931, in Fulton, IL, to George and Flora (Post) Holesinger. He was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools. He was a graduate of Fulton High School, Fulton, IL. He married Carol M. Anderson on May 4, 1958, in Clinton, IA. She survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. He owned and operated Allen Holesinger Trucking for 45 years. During that time he was also employed by the former Medenblik Trucking, Garden Plain, IL. Following retirement, he was employed by Balk Trucking, Thomson, IL. He was a member of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL; 4-H softball coach. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. Allen resided for 48 years in the Garden Plain area of rural Fulton, IL. Survivors include his wife, Carol; one daughter, Cheryl Holesinger RN, OCN, Fulton, IL; four sons, Steven (Julie) Holesinger, Dyer, IN, Jeffery Holesinger, Fulton, IL, Dr. Terry (Sabina) Holesinger Ph.D., Los Alamos, NM, and David (Mimi) Holesinger MBA, Dubuque, IA; twelve grandchildren, Bryce Holesinger-Bailey; Tyler, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Noah and Madilyn Holesinger; Jacob, Gabriel and Sylvia Holesinger; David Jr., Emma and George Holesinger; and two brothers, Donald (Audrey) Holesinger of Fulton, IL, and Richard (Judy) Holesinger, Fulton, IL.
