Luckritz, Hobart A. "Hub" View/Sign Guest Book

CLINTON — Hobart A. (Hub) Luckritz, age 89, of Clinton, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1st, at St. John Lutheran Church in Clinton with the Rev. Wayne Brinkmann officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Scott, Brent and Todd Zaehringer, Douglas and Steve Kinsey and Rob Shumake. Hub was born on July 29, 1918, in Clinton the son of Walter O. and Clara Ketelsen Luckritz. Hub graduated from Lyons High School in 1936. He served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II in the European Theater with the 50th Armored Infantry Battalion, the third armored Spearhead Division of the first Army in campaigns at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Centre Europe. Hub married Joan St. Clair on December 20, 1947, in Clinton. Hub was a production operator at E.I. DuPont for over 35 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served on the Board of Trustees from 1982 to 1988 and the Board of Elders from 1988 to 2008 of which he served as director from 2002 to 2006. Hub was the treasurer of the Christian Aid Committee. Hub was a member of V.F.W. Post 8486. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing and delivered Mobile Meals for over 25 years. Hub is survived by his wife, Joan; four daughters, Marcia (Wayne) Zaehringer of Clinton, Brenda Luckritz of Alexandria, VA, Teresa (Steven) Kinsey of Clinton and Barbara (John) Mayer of Clinton; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Todd, in infancy, three brothers and a sister. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.Death date: Feb. 26, 2008
