BELLEVUE — Pauline H. Ales, 87, of Bellevue, entered heaven, Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Pauline was born January 22nd, 1921, in Canton, Iowa, at her home, daughter of the late Charles Fredrick and Edna Jane (Downer) Kokemuller. She married William George Davids II on August 21st, 1940, in Miles. He preceded her in death February 28th, 1954. She later married Lee Victor “Bud” Ales Jr. on June 25th, 1955, in Preston. He preceded her in death September 9th, 1972. Pauline was a loving wife, mother and grandma. Pauline and her husband, Bill, owned and operated Davids Tap in Miles. She also had worked for Operation New View, Maquoketa, AARP, Dubuque and the Bellevue Public Library retiring at the age of 81. She was a member of the Miles American Legion Auxiliary for 36 years. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching soaps and NASCAR, reading, bird watching and spending time outdoors. She also loved animals, gardening, giving “holy hugs” and keeping up with current events. “She will be sadly missed by all who knew her…” Survivors include her children: Robert (Joyce) Davids, Bellevue; Kennard (Nancy) Davids, Dubuque; Mike (Billie) Davids, Princeton; Sharon Ales, DePere, WI; Cindy (Anthony) Ales, Dubuque; one brother, Charles Kokemuller, Conway, AK; three sisters, Vivian Meyer, Big Rock, IA, Virginia Struck, Atalissa, and Shirley Reading, Cibole, TX; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Thines, Preston; brother-in-law, Jim (Lois) Ales, Clitherall, MN. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Charles Davids III and James Conrad Davids; one grandson, Andre Patten; two sisters, Mildred Fischer and Viola Kent; three brothers, Milton, Arnold and Kermit Kokemuller. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1st, 2008, at The Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Cremation rights will be accorded with burial at a later date in the Miles Cemetery. The Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Bellevue are in charge of the arrangements. Online at www.kingeryfuneralhome.com.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
