CLINTON — Elizabeth Joyce Dunk, age 80, of Clinton, passed away on February 19, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. In accordance to Elizabeth “Joyce’s” wishes, there will be no visitation and a private family funeral will be held on Friday, February 22nd, at 11:00 A.M. at Pape Funeral Home. Pastor James L. Machen will officiate. Elizabeth “Joyce” was born on November 5, 1927, in Clinton to J. Brayton and Caroline (Briggs) Stewart. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Angels Academy in Clinton and Pineland Junior College, Salenburg, NC. She married Leon E. Dunk on August 6, 1946, in Clinton. Leon passed away on September 9, 1994. Joyce was a seamstress and homemaker and a former member of the Grace Episcopal Church. Her survivors include her daughters, Linda Le Frerichs of Savanna, IL, Patricia A. Nice (Donald) of Morrison, IL; her son, James B. Dunk (Jeanne) of Goose Lake, IA; her grandchildren, Scott Nice, Clinton, Jamie Ward (Braedon), Greenfield, WI, Cara Ullrich, St. Paul, MN, Jacob Dunk, San Diego, CA, Jessica Dunk, Goose Lake, Brianna Bovis (Marty) Clinton and Brittany Paul (Josh), Bellevue, NE; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Johnson of Mesa, AZ and Stephann Stewart Griffith of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her daughter, Barbara K. Behrens, and her son-in-law, William “Bill” Frerichs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Eagle Point Nursing and Rehab and the Skyline Health Center. Death date: Feb. 19, 2008
