FULTON, Ill. — Gerald E. Hook, 76, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at the nursing home.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Pastor Wayne Wiersema, pastor of Gateway Faith Fellowship, Fulton, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cottonwood Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorials may be made to Harbor Crest Nursing Home. He was born October 31, 1931, in Fulton, IL, to Peter and Winifred (Bronkema) Hook. He was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools. He married Dorothy M. Foster on January 24, 1951, in Morrison, IL. She survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1953. He was employed with Paul Balk Construction, Nelson Corp., International Harvester and retired from Case IH in Moline, IL. He was a member of Fulton American Legion Post 402 for 48 years serving as the commander twice. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Sandra Hook of Germantown, WI, and Trudy Woods of Clinton, IA; two sons, Timothy Hook of Fulton, IL, and Thomas (Nancy) Hook of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, Salena (Joe) Tingley, Chris Woods and Zachary Hook; two sisters, Marilyn (Frank) Freas of Albany, IL, and Phyllis (Willard) Huizenga of Morrison, IL; and one brother, Donald (Carol) Hook of Fulton, IL. He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Debbie, and two sons in infancy, Scott and Randy, and one brother, Robert Hook.
