The Clinton Herald Wednesday September 2, 1914 p. 8 Relatives in this city received word Tuesday of the death of John R. Greve, which occurred at Independence, Iowa, at 8:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, after an illness of several months duration. John Greve was born in this city November 17, 1868, and resided in this city until some six years ago, when he moved to Chicago and engaged in men's tailoring. The deceased had been in failing health since the death of his mother, which occurred less than a year ago. The following are left to mourn his death, one son, Vernon Greve, one daughter, Mrs. Paul Lauterer of Dubuque, one sister, Mrs. C. Petersen and one brother Fred greve of this city. The body will be brought to this city Wednesday and the funeral will be held from the Claus Petersen home, 217 North Fourth street at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
