The Clinton Herald Thursday May 23, 1968 p. 31 Hans Greve, 87, of 543 10th Ave. S., died Wednesday morning in the Clinton nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran church, with Rev. Paul Burgdorf officiating. Friends may call at the Snell-Smith funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be John Greve, Maurice Camp, Ira Camp, Donald Hinz, Richard Scharff and Sanke Hansen. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in DeWitt. Mr. Greve was born Nov. 14, 1880 in Germany, the son of Claus and Inga Hansen Greve. He married Leone Scharff in DeWitt on Feb. 15, 1912. He was a retired carpenter and the oldest living member of the German Benevolent society. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Ethel Greve and Mrs. Ruth Swartz, both of Clinton and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and a sister.
