September 5, 1912 — February 6, 2008 CLINTON — Catherine A. Rohwer, 95, of Clinton, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at Wyndcrest Nursing Home in Clinton. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Catherine was born September 5, 1912, in Clinton, the daughter of Henry and Christine (Petersen) Lass. She lived in Clinton all of her life. Catherine graduated from Clinton High School. She worked at Collis Company until her marriage to Arthur Rohwer on October 2, 1934; he died in 1995. Catherine was a homemaker and long time member of St. Paul’s Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She had one son, Arthur Wayne (Verna) Rohwer of Truth or Consequences, N.M. She also had one daughter Judith (David) Woods of Naperville, IL. She has 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Catherine loved to sew and made lap robes with the sewing circle at St. Paul Church and these robes were donated to Nursing Homes and the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and reading. She is survived by her son, daughter, and one sister, Millie Stange of Clinton. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and cousins. Memorials may be made to the family. Death Date: Feb. 6, 2008
