The Clinton Herald Monday December 22, 1913 p. 8 Another pioneer resident of this city was called Saturday evening, when Mrs. Catherine Greve, who had resided in this city for over fifty years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claus Petersen, 217 North Fourth street, where she had made her home for a number of years. The deceased was born in Germany in 1840, there also she was united in marriage to John Greve. In 1868 they came to the United States, locating in this vicinity, where they made their home except a few years residence in Miles. Mrs. Greve had been a patient sufferer since June 6, 1913, when she was taken ill. Just recently she was removed from a local hospital where she had been for treatment. He death was caused by a complication of diseases. Mrs. Greve was 73 years of age at the time of death. She is survived by the following: One daughter, Mrs. Claus Petersen of this city; four sons, Peter Greve of Henry, Henry Greve of Manning, John Greve of Chicago and Fred Greve of this city. The funeral services which will be private will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 23, at 2:30 o'clock from the home of Claus Petersen, 217 North Fourth street, thugh the home will be open to friends Tuesday morning. Rev. Wilber S. Leete of Grace church will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
