Monday September 23, 1918 p. 3 Funeral services of the late Charles Wilbur Hufman were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Congregational church, Rev. George R. Cady officiating, and Masonic services at the grave were in charge of Western Star lodge, No. 100, A.F. and AS.M. Those attending the casket were C.H. Easterly, Harry Cowles, Roy Bather, George Doyle, Milton Peaco and Oscar Jensen. Friends from out of the city here for the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hatch of La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Thomson and Fred Thomson of Chicago; Dr. and Mrs. J.A. Wright of Chadwick; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Myers, of Lanark; Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Thomson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Utts and Mr. and Mrs. William Thomson of Fulton. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery. Although there was no official notice of the closing of the Northwestern railway machine shops and roundhouse for the afternoon, this part of the plant was practically deserted, all the machinists and workers attending in a body, paying their last tribute to a man who had learned his trade in their midst and who had worked with them for years.
