The Clinton Herald Thursday December 26, 1968 p. 14 Mrs. Ray E. Clizbe, 82, of 1000 N. 4th St., died Wednesday morning in Mercy hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Snell-Smith funeral home. Rev. Harold Putney of the First Congregational church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Elsie P. Poppe was born Nov. 22, 1886 in Clinton, the daughter of Daniel and Anna Ehlers Poppe. She married Ray E. Clizbe on July 29, 1919 in Clinton. She was a member of the First Congregational church, PEO Chapter HV, YWCA and the American Legion auxiliary. Survivors include her husband; one son, David of Hockesson, Del.; one daughter, Mrs. Frank B. (Jean) Harrison of Great Falls, Va.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Thora Nickelsen and Minnie Poppe, both of Clinton and several nephews. She was preceded in death by three children in infancy and one brother.
