The Clinton Herald Wednesday April 2, 1969 p. 8 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pape funeral home for Hugo Tietjens, 85, of 1361 23rd Ave. N., who died Tuesday. John Nickelson of the Community Congregational church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Roeh, William Ottaway, Darrell and Roland Parker, Robert McCormick and John Tholen. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Tietjens was born Oct. 28, 1883 in Clinton, the son of Marx and Katherine Stoltenberg Tietjens. He married Merrette Au on June 5, 1912, in Clinton. Survivors include two sons, Raymond of Clinton and Reginald of Waterloo; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Alitz of Mason City; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, and several brothers and sisters.
