CLINTON — Gerald R. “Jake” Kuhse Sr., age 62, of Clinton, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Gene, Terry and Arnold Kracht, Steve Cox, Donald Ray and Richard Kuhse. Honorary pallbearer will be John Green. Jake was born on Dec. 8, 1945, in Savanna, IL, the son of Joseph and Thelma (Shepherd) Kuhse. He married Marie Chounaird on Nov. 13, 1968, in Clinton. He had worked at Ralston Purina and at All Star Pallet Co. in Fulton. He had been a member of the Eagles Club. Jake is survived by four sons, Joe Kuhse, Shawn (Kristine) Kuhse, Tim Kuhse and Gerald Kuhse Jr., all of Clinton; two daughters, Brenda Kuhse and Geraldine Kuhse, both of Clinton; his mother, Thelma Hartson of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; and three brothers, Ken (Mary) Huskey, Roger (Brenda) Huskey and Lonnie Huskey, all of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his father and two stepfathers.Death date: Jan. 26, 2008
