The wedding of Archibald Howes and Emma Bedford followed within a year or so and she came to Iowa tp reside. Mr. Howes died suddenly while they were visiting in Oak Park last spring, and there are left of her family but the daughter, Mae, Mrs. Harry Billmire and the two grandsons.

George Cady, pastor of the First Congregational church, of which she was a member officiating. Burial will be beside her husband in Springdale cemetery. The body now reposes at the George Howes home, 819 Eleventh avenue, whence it will be taken tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock to the old home. Emma Louise Bedford was born in Minorsville, Pa., Sept. 15, 1856, the youngest child of Francis and Mary Bedford. Of her own fmily there is left one brother, residing in Philadelphia. She was married January 1, 1878, to Archie S. Howes of Clinton and they came at once to this city, making their home here for 41 years. Their only daughter, Mae, and her husband, Harry G. Billmire, and their two sons, Archibald and Bedford Billmire, are left to mourn parents who were loved and loving. Mrs. Howes was a member of the First Congregational church and a charter member of the Sewers club, esteemed in the fellowship by many Clinton women. Since the sudden death of her husband, June 2, she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Billmire, 245 Home avenue, Oak Park, Ill., and death came suddenly to her as she was in the center of that little home circle. The funeral party came to Clinton yesterday, arriving at 12:45 p.m., going to the home of Mrs. Millmire's uncle, to remain until tomorrow. There was a short prayer service before they left Oak Park and many friends in that city sent flowers in sympathy with the bereaved home.
