The Clinton Daily Herald Friday December 6, 1892 At 6:30 o'clock last evening, at Fulton, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy, aged 73 years. She had been an invalid for some time, heart disease finally causing her demise. Deceased was born in Champagne county, Ohio. Here she came west, settling at Fulton, which had ever since been her home. Only one year ago last September, death claimed the husband who had been her helpmate for so many years. Six children survive - one daughter and five sons, of whom A.R. and W.J. reside in Clinton. Mrs. McCoy was one of the earliest settlers of Whiteside county. She was universally known and her purity and integrity of character was admired and respected by all. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the old homestead in Fulton.

The Clinton Daily Daily Age Saturday December 10, 1892 p. 4 Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy died at her home in Fulton, Ill., at 6:30 o'clock Thursday evening, aged seventy-three years, death resulting from heart disease, of which she had been a sufferer for some time. Elizabeth Russell was born in Champagne county, Ohio, where she was married to James McCoy about fifty-eight years ago, soon after moving to Fulton where she has since resided. On Sept. 30, 1891, death claimed the husband who had been her companion for so many years. Deceased was a woman highly esteemed by a large circle of friends both in Whiteside county and in this city. Six children survive - one daugther and five sons of whom W.J. and A.R. reside in this city. The funeral will be held from the residence in Fulton at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
