CLINTON — Services for Gene C. Knight, 61, of Clinton, will be held on Wednesday, January 2, at 1 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Home, South. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 until time of service. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Knight died on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.Gene was born on October 12, 1946, in Kearny, New Jersey, the son of Richard L. and Elizabeth (Nigro) Knight. He was the owner and operator of his own trucking company. He had also driven for several local trucking companies. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Knight of Clinton; daughters, Jamie Lynn Knight of Clinton and Bobby Jo Cram of Preston; one grandson, A.J.; his former wife, Jacqueline C. Kemp of Clinton; sisters, Marilyn “Peachie” Knight of Las Vegas, Nancy Wade of Clinton, Donna Wanzek of Low Moor and Sharon Knight of Silvis, IL; and a brother, LeRoy Knight of Jacksonville, Florida; two nephews, Jason Wade of Wisconsin and Kelly Wade of Clinton; and one stepdaughter, Mary Frazier of Camanche; and one stepson, Leslie Brown of Camanche.He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Knight; his maternal grandparents, Geno and Nancy Nigro; and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Sadie Knight.Death date: Dec. 27, 2007
