FULTON, Ill. — Alice M. Sikkema-Tiesman, 92, of Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton, and formerly of Fulton, died Friday at the nursing home. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Stephan, pastor of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service Monday at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fulton Township Cemetery. Fulton. Memorials can be made to Second Reformed Church and Mercy Hospice, Clinton. She was born April 8, 1915, in Fulton to Charles and Anne (Wiersema) Meinsma. She was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools. She married George W. Sikkema on March 3, 1938, in Fulton. He died July 5, 1965. She married Henry J. Tiesman on May 3, 1969, in Fulton. He died April 28, 1990. She was employed at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, as a nurse’s aid. She was a former member of First Reformed Church, Fulton, and the church’s Helping Hand Society. She was a current member of Second Reformed Church and the church’s Ladies Aid Society. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Henry) Perdue of Lanark, Ill., and Judith (Mrs. Randy) Holesinger of Fulton; two sons, Wilfred (Delores) Sikkema of Clinton and Arnold Sikkema of Morrison, Ill.; five stepdaughters, Darlene (Mrs. Raymond) Hook, Morrison, Mae (Mrs. Paul) Haan, of Lansing, Mich., Pat (Mrs. Ronald) Hanson, of Morrison, Sharon (Mrs. Paul) Walters, of Morrison, and Cindy (Mrs. Alan) Krontz, of Edwardsville, Ill.; one stepson, Larry (Judy) Tiesman, of Albany, Ill., 11 grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 31 stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn (Mrs. Orville) Buikema, of Clinton; two brothers, Henry (Marian) Meinsma, of Fulton, and Wilbur Meinsma, of Albany. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a stepgrandchild, a sister, MaryAnn Engelkens and a brother, John Meinsma.
